This preface describes the purpose, audience, organization, and conventions of the Catalyst 5000 Family Module Installation Guide, and provides information on how to obtain related documentation.
This guide describes the switching modules used in Catalyst 5000 family switches. It guides you through an overview of the initial site preparation and describes each module, its LEDs, and its required connections. This document also provides detailed instructions for installing and hot swapping modules.
To use this guide, you should be familiar with electronic circuitry and wiring practices and preferably have experience as an electronic or electromechanical technician.
