About This Guide

This guide explains how to use TrueView Catalyst 1600 Manager, a management application for the Catalyst 1600 Token Ring switch, to manage the Catalyst 1600 Token Ring switch and control broadcast frames on the network.

For information about the TrueView network management platform, refer to TrueView Applications Installation and User Guide.

This guide contains the following specific terms:

Catalyst 1600 The Catalyst 1600 Token Ring switch.
Option button A button on the screen, which is either selected or clear, that you click on to indicate an option. If an option button has a black center, that indicates it is selected. If an option button has a white center, that indicates it is not selected. You can only select one option button in a group of option buttons.
Check box A box on the screen, which is typically selected or clear, that you click on to indicate an option. An 'X' in a check box indicates it is selected. You can select a check box without affecting other check boxes.
