This chapter includes the following sections:

Installing CiscoWorks Blue SNA View from the CD-ROM

Use the following procedure to begin installing the CiscoWorks Blue SNA View software on Windows NT:

Step 1   Log in to Windows NT as a user with local administrator privileges.

Step 2   Insert the CiscoWorks Blue SNA View CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive on the workstation.

Note   If the Setup window does not automatically appear when you insert the CD-ROM, display the CD-ROM drive and double-click the blue Setup icon. If you have trouble reading the CD-ROM, make sure your CD-ROM drive is compliant with the ISO 9660 standard.

The Setup Welcome window is displayed.

Step 3   Click Next. The License Agreement window is displayed.

Step 4   To accept the license agreement, click Yes. The Information window is displayed.

Step 5   Read the third-party product information, and then click Next. The Choose Destination Location window is displayed. Accept the default location, or click Browse to create or find another location.

Note   Do not install the application in the program group called Startup. CiscoWorks Blue SNA View has its own built-in mechanisms for automatically restarting critical services and server processes after reboot.

Step 6   Click Next. The Select Program Folder window is displayed. Accept the default program folder or enter a new program folder name. If you choose an alternate folder, remember that all documents refer to the "CiscoWorks Blue" folder.

Step 7   Click Next. The Setup Status window is displayed showing the status of the installation.

Two sub-windows appear during product installation: Installing shared run-time components and the Microsoft Data Access 2.1 windows. If these two applications are currently on your system, then the install program verifies they are set up properly. If these applications are not on your system, they are installed.

After CiscoWorks Blue SNA View is installed, the Setup Complete window is displayed. You might be prompted to reboot your system. Installation is not complete and CiscoWorks Blue SNA View is not yet configured. Configuration will resume after the system reboots.

Note   CiscoWorks Blue SNA View might give you the option to
reboot now or later if the installer replaced or updated any
system-shared components that have been in use during
installation. Cisco strongly recommends that you reboot now
to complete the installation and configuration process. If you
choose to reboot later, remember that you must complete the
installation and configuration process before you can use
CiscoWorks Blue SNA View.

Step 8   If your system has rebooted, log in to Windows NT with the same account as you used to start the installation. Installation will resume and you will be prompted to enter a license key.

If you are re-installing, a setup window is displayed stating it has found configuration settings from a prior installation and asking if you want to restore these settings. Click Yes to restore the previous configuration information. Click No to use new configuration settings.

The Enter License window is displayed asking if you want to enter your
license key.

Step 9   To enter a new license key, click Yes. The SNA View License window is displayed.

Note   Your license key is located on the License Information sheet included in the CiscoWorks Blue packaged materials. If you cannot locate the license key information, you can add it later using the CiscoWorks Blue configuration application. You can complete the installation without the license key; however, you will be unable to fully use CiscoWorks Blue SNA View until the license key has been added.

Step 10   Enter the license key and click OK.

You can complete the installation without the license key; however, you will be unable to fully use CiscoWorks Blue SNA View until the license key has been added. In the future, you must use the CiscoWorks Blue SNA View 3.0 configuration application and enter a valid license key so you can use the product.

After installation, you can access Configuration in the following three ways:

Note   The DNS Search check box is unchecked as the default.
If you will need to query by router name in
CiscoWorks Blue SNA View, select the DNS check box.
However, while enabling DNS Search will increase the
flexibility of resources you can search, it will also decrease
the speed of the Web query.

Step 15   Click Next. The TCP and UDP port default values required for CiscoWorks Blue SNA View are displayed. If you will be using different port numbers, enter the values in these fields

Port Default Value

Web Server TCP Port

80, if only one web server; otherwise, 8080 or any other valid port

Open Server TCP Port

.

Step 16   After you complete the configuration, click Done. The Setup Complete window is displayed.
