Videum software can be accessed though the Windows NT Start button, and includes all of the drivers and applications described in this guide.
Review the following sections in this chapter before proceeding to Chapter 3.
Since the Videum software is actually a group of applications, you can select the program you want to run by choosing one of the applications from the Videum menu. For best results, a video input source should be connected before you open Videum Capture. After installation, the Videum Configure application can be launched (Figure 2-1) so you can select the video source and set your system defaults.
We recommend that you run the configure program now and become familiar with it to get the best capture results.
The Videum Configure application allows you to set video, audio, and power characteristics. After installation, you can run the configure program or you can launch this program at any time from the Videum menu to change your configuration. Figure 2-2 shows the Videum Configure Dialog.
Each of the tabs is described in Table 2-1.

If you click the More button on the Video tab in the Videum Configure application, a new dialog is displayed (Figure 2-5).
This dialog allows you to change image tone and camera characteristics. As you make changes the image changes to reflect the new settings.
For more video settings, click the Extras button (Figure 2-6).
The Audio Panel and the Videum Audio Mixer allow you to set the audio source, balance, and volume. Choose one of these applications based on your screen space.
To set the audio characteristics, follow these steps:
The Audio Panel is shown in Figure 2-7.
Step 2 Use the checkboxes and sliders to mute the audio inputs or outputs, set the balance between speakers, or set the recording volume.
Changes made with the Audio Panel are reflected in the Audio Mixer and visa versa.
Step 3 To set additional audio characteristics, select Properties from the Options menu.
The Properties dialog is displayed, as shown in Figure 2-8.
Step 4 Use the radio buttons to set both the playback and recording properties.
If no picture appears, try the following:
Verify that the appropriate source is selected. When you have the correct setting a picture is displayed on the dialog box.
If no sound is heard, try the following:
Increase the volume using the slider that corresponds to the input source.
