The CLEI code labels on one or more Cisco 6260 power entry modules (PEMs) at your site may contain an error. This package contains corrected replacement labels. This document tells you how to attach the label(s) to the hardware.
The Common Language Equipment Identifier (CLEI) code on the label is a tracking tool for maintenance and inventory. If you use CLEI codes to track equipment, it is important that you put the corrected labels on your PEMs.
The error is found on Cisco 6260 PEMs shipped before June 1, 2000. On the affected CLEI labels, the first letter of the CLEI code is wrong:
Incorrect CLEI code | BMP1D00CAA |
Correct CLEI code | DMP1D00CAA |
Step 2 Attach a new CLEI label to any PEM whose CLEI label is incorrect. Apply the new label so that it covers the old one. See Figure 1.
