Cisco ConnectPro Overview

This chapter describes the Cisco ConnectPro Software Release 1.(3) and its system requirements, and explains what you need to do before installing Cisco ConnectPro.

If you are familiar with the standard conventions for navigation and mouse usage in Microsoft Windows Version 3.1, you will be able to use Cisco ConnectPro. If you need to know more about these topics, please see your Microsoft Windows documentation.

Description

Cisco ConnectPro is configuration software that you can install on a PC if the PC is equipped with an Ethernet card. Cisco ConnectPro provides a user-friendly graphical interface with on-line help that enables you to configure the Cisco routers.

Cisco ConnectPro provides configuration and performance management capabilities for Cisco products. Using Cisco ConnectPro, you can save to a local file the configuration of a Cisco router. You can use this file later to restore the configuration of a router, or use the file as a template to set up multiple routers.

System Requirements

Cisco ConnectPro runs on a PC with the following system setup:

• 386 processor minimum

• 8 MB RAM minimum

• 3 MB free disk space for Cisco ConnectPro installation

• Windows 3.1, DOS 5.0 or greater, Windows 95, or Windows NT

• Ethernet card

• Open Data-Link Interface (ODI), Network Driver Interface Specifications (NDIS) compliant driver, or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stack (NetManage's Chameleon or Newt, or FTP Software's OnNet or PC/TCP software program)
