The GateD makefile system is setup to allow the compilation of gated for different architectures using the same source tree. Each architecture uses it own object directory to store machine- dependent object files. The object directories consist of a few configured files and symbolic links for the majority of the GateD files. They are named obj.<arch> where arch is related to architecture of your system. As for the 3.6 gated version, a new auto-configuration process is provided. This feature is available on a restricted set of architecture, and you may need to use the old (before version 3.6) gated installation procedures.
