This preface describes who should read the Cisco Content Routing Software Configuration Guide and Command Reference, how it is organized, and its document conventions.
This preface contains the following sections:
This guide explains how to configure and maintain the Cisco Content Routing software, and provides an alphabetical reference that describes the Content Routing software commands.
To use this guide to configure and use the Content Routing software, you should be familiar with basic TCP/IP and networking concepts, router configuration, and your organization's network configuration.
This guide includes the following chapters and appendixes:

italic font | Variables for which you supply values are in italics. |
[ ] | Elements in square brackets are optional. |
{x | y | z} | Alternative keywords are grouped in braces and separated by vertical bars. |
[x | y | z] | Optional alternative keywords are grouped in brackets and separated by vertical bars. |
string | A nonquoted set of characters. Do not use quotation marks around the string, or the string will include the quotation marks. |

!, # | An exclamation point (!) or a pound sign (#) at the beginning of a line of code indicates a comment line. |
