This guide provides the following information:
- A list of system requirements for uploading the CiscoWorks Blue Native Service Point files to your NetView or NetMaster host
- Procedures for uploading Native Service Point files, configuring required SNA commands for Native Service Point, and building a list of routers for NetView or NetMaster
- Instructions on using Native Service Point and setting up accessibility to routers in other domains
- Command reference for Native Service Point
- General reference for programmers
- Error Messages
Note Native Service Point also provides online help for the panels.
This guide is designed for NetView or NetMaster host network management operators who are responsible for configuring and maintaining Cisco routers in an SNA environment.
In addition, information that is required for MVS, VM, or VSE programmers to complete the Native Service Point upload procedures or to understand the purpose of the CLISTs is also provided.
This guide assumes that you are familiar with the basic concepts and terminology used in internetworking, and that you understand your network topology and the protocols you will route. This guide also assumes that you have a working knowledge of basic Cisco router command syntax and that you have access to a mainframe MVS, VM, or VSE programmer who will place the Native Service Point files in the mainframe host.
Command descriptions in this guide use these conventions:
- Vertical bars (\) separate alternative, mutually exclusive, elements.
- Square brackets ([ ]) indicate optional elements.
- Braces ({ }) indicate a required choice.
- Braces within square brackets [{ }] indicate a required choice within an optional element.
- Boldface indicates commands and keywords that are entered literally as shown.
- Italics indicate arguments for which you supply values; in contexts that do not allow italics, arguments are enclosed in angle brackets (< >).
In examples, an exclamation point (!) at the beginning of a line in a router configuration indicates a comment line.
In addition, this guide uses the following convention:
