Overview

The Cisco 6500/7600 Series Manager software manages and monitors one or more Catalyst 6500 series switches or Cisco 7600 series Internet Routers through the Cisco Element Manager Framework (CEMF) software. Version 2.0 supports both CEMF versions 3.1 and 3.2. The Cisco 6500/7600 Series Manager provides standard element management such as fault, configuration, account, performance, and security for the Catalyst 6500 series switch or for the Cisco 7600 series Internet Router.

The Cisco 6500/7600 Series Manager software adds custom windows and modeling behavior to the standard CEMF system to manage the Catalyst 6500 series switch hardware or the Cisco 7600 series Internet Router hardware.

The Cisco 6500/7600 Series Manager software helps you to manage the Catalyst 6500 series switch or the Cisco 7600 series Internet Router by eliminating the need to have detailed technical knowledge of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and the Cisco IOS commands. It also simplifies the deployment process for the Catalyst 6500 series switch or for the Cisco 7600 series Internet Router.

You can install Multiple Element Managers onto a single CEMF server, which allows multidevice and multivendor management from a single system.

Note   Refer to the Cisco Element Management Framework User Guide for additional information about CEMF.

Accounting information is limited to information for inventory purposes. No security information is provided by the Cisco 6500/7600 Series Manager.
