Cisco has shipped two types of power supplies in the Catalyst 5000 product. These two types of power supplies are of equal quality and reliability but are not compatible with each other in a dual power supply configuration in the same chassis. If you have a chassis with a single supply, and you are NOT making it a dual supply system, disregard this notice.
To identify the type of power supply visually, use the guide below, viewing from the front of the supply:
