ViewRunner for Windows, Release 3.0.0 is the graphical user interface application that allows you to configure your Cisco 6100 Series system.
Before you install any servers or applications, have the following media available for reference:
The following sections provide a quick overview of the hardware and software requirements necessary to install and use ViewRunner for Windows.
Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT support ViewRunner for Windows.
After you connect the PC to the Cisco 6100 Series system, follow the steps below to install the ViewRunner for Windows software.
Additional software support requirements:
1. Windows 95
2. Windows NT
3. If you click the ViewRunner for Windows icon and this error message appears: "Unable to load OCX:MSCOMCT2," install DCOM libraries from the following locations:
Windows 95 and Windows 98 http://www.microsoft.com/com/redirs/resource_fnf.asp
Download version 1.2 and later from http://www.microsoft.com/com/resources/downloads.asp
4. Windows NT95/98 dual-homed systems are not supported. If you have a dual-homed system, disable one of the systems before you attempt to run ViewRunner for Windows software Release 3.0.0.
5. For remote TFTP with a UNIX server, the path for the remote TFTP server must correspond to the path configuration on the TFTP daemon.
If the TFTP daemon is configured with the "-s" that specifies the default root path, on the VR4W remote TFTP path, enter "/".
To install ViewRunner for Windows from a disk, follow these steps:
Step 2 Click your disk drive icon and double-click setup.exe. This launches the setup process.
Step 3 Proceed through the setup dialog boxes, clicking Next for each step and Finish at the end.
Step 4 Go to the folder where the Windows operating system resides such as Windows or Winnt, and open the viewrunner.001 file with the Notepad application. The viewrunner.001 file is the backup of the previously established ViewRunner values.
Step 5 In the viewrunner.001 file, select and copy all relevant values such as users, node addresses, and preferences. Leave this file open.
Step 6 Double-click the viewrunner.ini file to open it. This file should be empty of values.
Step 7 In the viewrunner.ini file, paste the values that you copied from the viewrunner.001 file.
Step 8 Go to the Notepad menu bar and select File > Save.When all selected values have copied successfully to the viewrunner.ini file, close the viewrunner.001 file.
Step 9 Click the ViewRunner.exe file to start the application.

To install from the Web:
Step 2 When the Login dialog box appears, enter your Cisco user name and password.
Step 3 The Cisco ViewRunner Software page displays.
Step 4 Click vr4w300.exe (ViewRunner for Windows self-extracting file).

Step 5 Click your choice for software download. A system window opens, allowing you to browse to the folder in which you want to download the ViewRunner for Windows application.
Step 6 After you select and open a folder, the ViewRunner for Windows Release 3.0.0 setup package installs to your chosen location.
Step 7 Go to the folder where ViewRunner for Windows files reside and double-click the VR4W3.0.exe file to decompress the ViewRunner for Windows setup package. If you are using a decompression program, it might launch the ViewRunner install process for you.
Step 8 If the ViewRunner setup process is not launched for you, double-click setup.exe in the application folder to launch the setup process.
Step 9 Proceed through the setup dialog boxes, clicking Next for each step and Finish at the end.
Step 10 Follow steps 4 through 10 in the previous section, Installing from Disk.
