For U.K. Use Only
Cisco Systems declaration of operating conditions:
The Cisco Systems 500-CS servers are designed to meet the requirements of TG. No. 17.
Interconnection directly, or by way of other apparatus, of ports marked:
"WARNING. CONNECT ONLY APPARATUS COMPLYING WITH BS6301 TO THIS (THESE) PORT(S)"
with ports not so marked may produce hazardous conditions on the British Telecom Network. Obtain advice from a competent engineer before making such a connection.
Always unplug your connection to the British Telecom Network before you disconnect the mains plug which provides protective earth. The connection to the British Telecom Network must not be hard wired; it is, however, appropriate to connect the Cisco server to protective earth by hard wiring.
Connection to a telecommunications network may only be made via Dynatech communications type 1183 fuse disconnection barrier units. The fuses used in the fuse disconnection barrier have a rated current of 60 milliamperes.
The 500-CS servers are brought into service by the supplier.
The RS-232 Console Port is declared as an Accessory Port as defined by BS 6301.
Any approval given to this apparatus will be invalidated if the server is used in a manner which in any way causes noncompliance with BS 6301: 1982.
