You have just purchased a Cisco Content Distribution Manager 4630 (CDM-4630) with Cisco CDN Software, Enterprise Solution installed.
Cisco Content Distribution Managers are the content management elements of a larger, Cisco Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution, which includes content routing, content switching, content distribution and delivery, and content services, as well as content management.
The CDM-4630 is located at the logical central point of your network to give you complete control over your entire media distribution network. It operates in conjunction with Cisco Content Engines (located at your end-user sites) that receive and transmit streaming media to audiences over the local-area network (LAN).
The CDM-4630 uses a powerful, yet simple Web browser-based user interface that allows you to configure and monitor Cisco Content Engines anywhere in the world, import and preview any rich mediaincluding TV-quality videoand generate media URLs for your internal and external Web sites. You can also set maximum bandwidth usage rates for distributing media to Cisco Content Engines over the wide-area network (WAN), as well as from Content Engines to end users over the LAN to ensure that you never congest the network.
The CDM-4630 has two 36-gigabyte (GB) Ultra2 SCSI system drives and one SCSI LVD port. In addition, the CDM-4630 has two 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet/Fast Ethernet ports with RJ-45 receptacles. Port Ethernet 0 supports autodetect speed and full-duplex operation. The second port (Ethernet 1) is currently not supported.
