Special Configuration Requirements

The MGX 8260 has the following special configuration requirements.

Configuring the default gateway

Unless you set the default gateway, you can only reach the MGX 8260 from devices on the same subnet as the chassis.

To set the default gateway, use the following command:

chgw gateway-IP-address

For example, the following command sets a default gateway for subnet 10.1.1.0:

chgw 10.1.1.1

Logging In

Changes have occurred in the user name and passwords that are required to log in as ROOT_USER (level 0) and SUPER_USER (level 1).


Note   The password of root_user and root_super can be changed from the command line interface using the chpwd command, which is valid for the active SCC only.

ROOT_USER (level 0)

New login user's name: Cisco

New login password: cisco

SUPER_USER (level 1)

Login user's name: SuperUser (no change)

New login password: cisco

Summary of New Upgrade Commands

This release includes new CLI commands that support upgrade of software Release 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 to later versions. These commands do not apply when upgrading from Release 1.1.1, 1.1.2, or 1.1.3 to Release 1.1.4.
