Guide to MGX 8880 Media Gateway User Documentation


The MGX 8880 Media Gateway is composed of a rack mountable chassis including:

A 16-slot card cage

A PXM-45 card

A power supply module

An RCON (redundancy connector) card

Cooling fans and plenum chambers

In addition to the PXM-45 card, the card slots can be populated with the following cards>

A second (redundant) PXM-45 card

One or more Voice Switch Service Module (VXSM-155, or VXSM-48-T1E1) cards

One or more Voice Interworking Service Module (VISM-PR) cards

One or more Route Processor Modules (RPM-XF) cards

One or more ATM Switch Service Module (AXSM-2-622-B or AXSM-16-155-B) cards

The detail information and procedures required to install, configure and operate the MGX 8880 Media Gateway are to be found among the user documents for the above modules.
