Some commands described in this publication, such as the terminal escape-character EXEC command in the "User Interface Commands" chapter and the escape-character line configuration command in the "Line Configuration and Terminal Setting Commands" chapter require that you enter the decimal representation of an ASCII character.
Table A-1 provides code translations from ASCII characters to the decimal numbers. For example, the ASCII carriage return (CR) is decimal 13. This means that pressing Ctrl-M at your terminal generates decimal 13, which is interpreted as a CR.
