The BGP Increased Support of Numbered AS-Path Access Lists to 500 feature is an enhancement for Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) autonomous system access lists. This enhancement increases the maximum number of autonomous system access lists that can be configured with the ip as-path access-list command from 199 to 500.
Use Cisco Feature Navigator to find information about platform support and Cisco IOS software image support. Access Cisco Feature Navigator at http://www.cisco.com/go/fn . You must have an account on Cisco.com. If you do not have an account or have forgotten your username or password, click Cancel at the login dialog box and follow the instructions that appear.
The number range for the lat access-list command has been increased from 1 to 199 to 1 to 500. However, the maximum number of access lists that can be configured is still only 199.
To configure this feature, you must understand the following concepts:
BGP autonomous system path access lists are used to filter both inbound and outbound BGP routes. These lists also support regular expressions.
The upgrade introduced by this feature is part of a global enhancement that also affects other components in addition to the ip as-path access-list command. The following components are affected. Each command is cross-referenced to the corresponding command reference page.
