Showing Devices and Rings as Icons

In TrueView, you can choose to show or hide the icons that represent devices and rings discovered by a TrueView management application. When the icons are hidden, you can still use the table (see Chapter 5, "Working with Tables") to view a list of devices that have been discovered automatically (see the section "Adding Devices and Rings Using Auto Discovery" in Chapter 3) or added by the user (see the section "Adding Devices and Rings Manually" in Chapter 3).

To show or hide icons in TrueView:

Step 1 Click on the Options command on the menu corresponding to the icons you want to show or hide.

The Options dialog box is displayed.

Step 2 Click on the Show icons check box.

If the check box contains a cross, icons are shown.

If the check box does not contain a cross, icons are hidden.

Step 3 Click on the OK button.

Step 1 Place the mouse pointer on an area outside the group of bridge icons to be selected.

The mouse pointer changes from an arrow to a cross.

Step 2 Press and hold the left mouse button.

Step 3 Drag the mouse pointer to make a box over the icons to be selected, to an area outside the group of bridge icons you want to select.

Step 4 Release the left mouse button.

All the selected icons, including icons that are partially inside and partially outside the box, are highlighted.
