Before you install QoS Policy Manager, ensure that the systems meet the requirements for running QoS Policy Manager. These sections describe the requirements and procedures for installing QoS Policy Manager.
Note For information on uninstalling these components, see Appendix D, "Uninstalling QoS Policy Manager."
These are the hardware and software requirements for installing QoS Policy Manager:
Table 2-1 Hardware and Software Requirements
The complete QoS Policy Manager is the management interfaces that you use to create and distribute your QoS policies to network devices. The application includes the QoS Manager backend process used to manage and process the QoS database.
Step 2 Select Start>Run, and enter d:\setup.exe, where d: is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive.
Step 3 Read the Welcome screen and click Next.
Step 4 Choose a destination folder (one is selected by default) and click Next.
Step 5 Select Complete QoS Manager in the Setup Type window and click Next.
Step 6 Specify or select a program group, if you do not want to use the default name, and click Next.
Once you click Next, the complete QoS Manager is installed on your system.
Step 7 Click Finish to exit the installation program.
You can install the remote QoS Policy Manager on any machine that has access to the QoS Manager (the backend process installed with the complete QoS Manager) and your QoS database. This allows you to manage the QoS policies from remote locations, for example, from a laptop.
Determine the NT name of the workstation where you installed, or intend to install, the complete QoS Manager.
Step 2 Select Start>Run, and enter d:\setup.exe, where d: is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive.
Step 3 Read the Welcome screen and click Next.
Step 4 Choose a destination folder (one is selected by default) and click Next.
Step 5 Select Remote QoS Manager in the Setup Type window and click Next.
Step 6 Enter the name of the machine that is running the QoS Manager service. This is the machine where you installed, or intend to install, the complete QoS Manager.
Step 7 Specify or select a program group, if you do not want to use the default name, and click Next.
Once you click Next, the remote QoS Manager is installed on your system.
Step 8 Click Finish to exit the installation program.
