Table 3 Known Problems in CiscoWorks LMS Portal 1.0

Bug ID
Summary
Explanation

CSCsh59261

RME Hardware summary graph is not shown in Remote portlet.

While adding RME Hardware summary portlet to the remote portlet, you can only view the RME Hardware Summary details and not the RME Summary graph.

Workaround:

None.

CSCsg76235

Portlets do not appear if you launch the server before some application is registered.

This problem occurs when the Portal engine is not started and ready. However, Tomcat and other deamons are started.

When Tomcat or the deamons are restarted, the application will get registered with the portal engine and if you try to launch the server before this then the application will not appear.

Workaround:

Wait for sometime and the portlets will appear.

CSCsi52867

Some portlets display the following message "No Role" for SysAdmin in ACS.

Some portlets display messages that you do not have the required role to access a portlet. This happens even if you have System Administrator privileges.

This problem could occur when you have opened multiple sessions.

Workaround:

Refresh the screen to view the details.

CSCsg54946

If you configure mail.yahoo.com or http:// in IFrame and click Back, it launches in a full window.

After configuring the URL, if you click Back, the screen occupies the entire window. Hence remove the portlets.

Workaround:

Use the following URL to remove all the IFrame portlets in the view protocol://servername:portno/cwportal/c/portal/RemoveIFrame.

CSCsh71141

N-Hop View Portlet shows wrong device icon for MSFC Switch.

N-Hop View Portlet shows wrong device icon for switches with Multilayer Switch Feature Card (MSFC), if

The device is on the edge of the network

The device is on the edge of the topology map displayed in the N-Hop view portlet.

In the above case, no options are displayed when you right click the device. That prevents you from Telnetting to the device or launching other applications, as you do for other devices.

Workaround:

None.

CSCsh94522

Portlet menu options may not appear correctly

The portlets may appear however the submenu options may not appear.

This can occur if the browser's cache has stale data for the server in question.

Since the portal web pages do not specify any caching pragmas, browsers will cache the content, and thus this problem can occur.

Workaround:

Clearing the browser cache will fix the problem.

CSCsg55419

Launching the Portlet using URL is not working properly in same window.

This problem occurs when you launch the portal page, when there are many jobs running and the CPU usage is maximum. This is one of the rarest scenario.

This can also occur if you do the following:

Go to CiscoWorks LMS Portal and configure any portlet.

Copy the url present in the address bar in an other browser and logout from CiscoWorks LMS Portal.

The URL that is displayed in a different browser shows the CiscoWorks LMS Portal with improper images and details.

Workaround:

Refresh the screen.

CSCsi96540

Some portlets are missing in Functional view after Remote Migration.

After you migrate some portlets do not appear in the Functional View.

For instance, you have installed RME application and the RME portlets are missing in the Functional View.

Workaround:

Unregister the missing application and re-register the application.

To re-register the application do the following:

Go to Common Services > Server> Home Page Admin >Application Register.

Click the Register button.

CSCsj10667

Error 500 is thrown in the RME Hardware and Software Summary portlet

This error is thrown when you click the device count in RME Hardware Summary or RME Software Summary portlet.

This problem occurs when the DCR contains the space in the display name.

Workaround:

Remove the white spave in the display name in the DCR as display name should not contain white space.
