The following information supplements or corrects the information provided in the CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 Release Notes.
Since beginning the manufacture of this release, we have discovered a problem in the Java code used in this product. The problem is time-based and appeared in January, 2002. We have developed a CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 patch to address this problem.
All CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 customers must install this patch after the normal product installation is complete. To ensure proper CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 functionality, this patch may be included in your packaging on a second CD, or it can be downloaded from the following location:

CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 uses dated certificates to grant permissions for internal processes to pass information between the browser and various program components.
An error in the Java code causes CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 to mishandle the user's request to grant new permissions. Without these permissions, the CiscoView function might not be able to launch at all. This update corrects the problem.
Note No other tools or functions within CiscoWorks for Windows 6.0 are affected by this error. You can continue to use all other tools and functions. |
