Supported Device Table for CiscoWorks SNMS 1.5 and 1.5.1
Revised: August 5, 2005
The following table lists the Cisco devices supported by Resource Manager Essentials 3.5 (Essentials 3.5) with Incremental Device Update (IDU) 13.0, and CiscoView 6.0:
Table 1, Devices Supported in IDU 13.0
IDU 13.0 contains updated files necessary for Essentials 3.5 to support the Cisco devices listed in Table 2. If you are a registered user, you can download IDU for Essentials 3.5. An IDU is a software package that enables an application to support new devices. An IDU might also contain bug fixes.
Incremental Device Update 13.0 requires one file, RME35.IDU.v13-0.win.exe, to be downloaded and installed. To access it, log into Cisco.com and download it from:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-rmeYou have to download CiscoView 6.0 device packages separately for CiscoView 6.0 application to support these devices. You can download CiscoView 6.0 device packages from:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/CiscoView/cvplanner.cgi.The following tables show the Cisco devices supported by CiscoWorks Small Network Management Solution 1.5 (CiscoWorks SNMS):
• Table 2, Devices Supported in IDU 12.0
• Table 3, Devices Supported in IDU 11.0
• Table 4, Devices Supported in IDU 10.0
• Table 5, Devices Supported in IDU 9.0
• Table 6, Devices Supported in IDU 8.0
• Table 7, Devices Supported in IDU 7.0.

2 Software Management does not support NM-NAM (Network Module-Network Analysis Module) card for Cisco 2600 and 3600 routers when it is connected to the network through the external management interface. So if you want to upgrade NM-NAM image to a higher version you must configure the internal interface as a management port.

You have to ensure that the configurations in the archive and NVRAM/RAM are synchronized.
2 Software Management: Import image from device and network baselining features are not supported.
3 Software Management: Upgrade analysis feature is not supported.
4 Software Management: Minimum software version required is 5.0 build 10s.

1 The MGX 8850 switch has not been tested for support.
2 Software Management: Only Image Import and Image Upgrade Analysis are supported for Multiservice Switch.
3 Software Management: Supervisor I, II, III, II-G, III-G, RSFC, ATM, FDDI, CDDI, and Token Ring Gigabit Ethernet Switch, Route Switch modules on Catalyst 5000 and 5500 series devices.
4 Clustering is not supported in the Cataylst 3500 series.
5 Software Management: Image library import from device, network baselining, and synchronization features are not supported.
6 Configuration Management: SSH support for Configuration Management is not available since RME supports a lower version of SSH than the SSH supported in the MDS switch.
7 Configuration Management: Netconfig not supported.
8 Software Management: The non-descriptive upgrade feature in Software Management is not available in the device and hence not supported.
9 Software Management: To recommend a Boot image based on the SAN image and vice versa, RME requires the compatibility matrix of Boot and SAN images. Alternatively it requires a mechanism to select a Boot image based on the SAN image or vice versa on the RME server. This is not available and hence Software Management will not recommend any image.
10 Software Management: The standby supervisor in Software Management is not supported because of insufficient MIB implementation.
11 Software Management: The Current Running Image name is not available in the MIB and hence the following features are not supported:
- Details of image name in Work Order Report will not appear
- Add image from Network
- Synchronization Report12 Software Management distribution through rcp is not supported in MIB
13 Software Management: See Bug ID CSCin37076.
