Device Fault Manager, Release 1.1

Device Fault Manager (DFM) ships with two CDs:

Product Consisting of

CD One, 4th Edition

  • CiscoWorks2000 server software

  • CiscoView software

  • Documentation—refer to
    "Related Documentation" in this document

Note   In addition to the enclosed paper documents, PDF versions of product documentation are available on the product CDs. You might find it advantageous to refer to the installation instructions for individual products and print out the relevant documentation before proceeding with the installation.

Statement of Use

This release of DFM contains product CDs for both Windows and Solaris. The CDs are provided to you as a convenience in deploying DFM in the operating system environment of your choice. Your purchase authorizes you to use DFM in a single installation. You are authorized to install the DFM component on one server.

If you must distribute DFM to other servers in order to meet application-specific or server performance requirements, you are authorized to install additional instances of CD One, 4th Edition, to host them. To install multiple instances of the DFM component, including backup systems, you must purchase additional copies of DFM.

Installation Prerequisites

For server and client requirements, refer to Installing and Setting Up Device Fault Manager.

Installing Device Fault Manager

CiscoWorks2000 CD One must be installed before Device Fault Manager.

You can also install the following Device Fault Manager 1.1 adapters (without installing the entire DFM product) to integrate a local version of DFM 1.1 with remote network management systems (NMSs):

Already has a CiscoWorks2000 bundle installed with CD One, 3rd Edition

    1. Upgrade to CD One, 4th Edition.

    2. Install Device Fault Manager.

Already has a CiscoWorks2000 bundle installed with CD One, 4th Edition
