Use this Reference Card with the CiscoWorks Blue web interface to locate SNA devices in your network.

Start Your Web Browser

Go to the CiscoWorks Blue Web Server

Type the URL of the CiscoWorks Blue web server:

http:// host_name[:port_number]

Where host_name is the name of the host with the CiscoWorks Blue web server. The port_number is optional if you use port 80. For example, if your host name is host.cisco.com, and you use port 8080, you would type:

http://host.cisco.com:8080

Click SNA View

If you don't see SNA View, notify your administrator.

Identify the SNA Resource

In the Basic Search tab, enter as much information as you know about the device you want to locate. Use wildcard characters (* and ?) where necessary. Enter information in as many fields as you want, but you must enter a value in at least one of the fields to get a list of sessions.

Step 1 In the "Specify SNA Information" field, enter the following values (they are not case sensitive and are converted to uppercase):

In "Name" enter all or part of an LU name, PU name, CP name, or IDBLK/IDNUM pair that identifies one or more SNA resources. Use one of the following name formats:

CWB*.DOMAIN1 displays all resources in the DOMAIN1 domain with names that begin with the characters CWB.
CWB* or CWB*.* that begin with the characters CWB.
CWBC09 or CWBC09.* displays all resources named CWBC09 in all domains.

In "Name Type" select whether the name is an LU name, a PU name, a CP name, or an IDBLK/IDNUM pair.

Step 2 In the "Specify LAN Information" field, identify an SNA resource by its MAC and SAP address:

In "MAC Address" enter the MAC address of the SNA resource.
In "SAP Address" enter the entire SAP address of the SNA resource. (If you enter a SAP, you must also enter a MAC.)

Step 3 In the "Specify TCP/IP Information" field, identify one or more TN3270 resources by their TCP/IP attributes:

In "TN3270 Client TCP/IP Name or Address" enter the Internet address or host name associated with the SNA resource. You can use wildcards (* and ?) in a host name but not in an Internet address.
In "Port" enter the port number. (If you enter a port number, you must also enter a value in the "TN3270 Client TCP/IP Name or Address" field.)

Step 4 If you want to limit the number of sessions found, enter a number in the "Max Sessions" field and select Show only exact matches.

Step 5 Click go.

Find Your Session

If your criteria matches only one session, that session path is displayed. Otherwise, you will see a list of sessions that match your criteria.

Click Session Path

Click Session Path next to your session in the displayed table.

Display the Session Path

View the session path from the PU back to the SNA mainframe.
