Catalyst 5000 Chassis Release Note

Product Number: WS-C5007=

This document provides information about the Catalyst 5000 spare chassis with an AC power supply. The product is designed for the following uses:

Cisco Systems assumes that users of this product have a high level of technical expertise and need no guidance in assembling a complete switching system. Installation instructions for individual components are included in the installation notes that ship with each supervisor engine module, interface module, and redundant power supply. Installation instructions for the assembled switch are included in the Catalyst 5000 Series Installation Guide, which ships with the spare chassis.

These documents are also available in a CD-ROM package included with the spare chassis. The Documentation CD-ROM, a member of the Cisco Connection Family, is updated monthly. Therefore, it might be more up to date than printed documentation. To order additional copies of the Documentation CD-ROM, contact your local sales representative or call customer service. The CD-ROM package is available as a single package or as an annual subscription. In addition to the supervisor engine module, you can install up to four interface modules and a redundant power supply. Figure 2 shows an example system that contains the following components:
