Link Report

Note: To generate link reports, one end of the link must be connected to a Catalyst 2900 or 3500 XL switch.

The link report provides port group, VLAN, and STP information, as well as MAC addresses. When generating link reports, it is important to understand which device is reporting information to the application. If the link is between Catalyst 2900 or 3500 switches, both ends of the link provide information for the report. If the link is between a Catalyst 2900 or 3500 switch and a Catalyst 1900 or 2820 switch or an edge device, only the Catalyst 2900 or 3500 switch provides information for the report.

Generating Link Reports

To generate a link report, select a link on the Cluster Builder network map; then select Link>Link Report from the menu bar. Or, right-click on a link in the Cluster Builder network map to display the link pop-up menu, and select Link Report from the menu.

The link report displays the following information for the port on each end of the link:

Displaying Other Port Group Members

By default, the link report displays the name of the selected port in the group. To display other port group members, select another port name from the drop-down list. After your selection, all fields in the link report display information about the selected port and the port to which it is connected.
