Cluster Inventory

With the Cluster Inventory window, you can:

Note: The Cluster Inventory window is read only. To change the inventory on a switch, select System > IP Management or System > SNMP Management and make your changes on the System Options tab.

Displaying the Cluster Inventory

By default, the Cluster Inventory window shows a table of information for all switches in the cluster. The table contains the host name, device type and serial number, the IP address of the switch, the version of installed software, and switch location. If any modules are installed, the inventory also displays the module type and its installed slot.

If you did not assign a host name to any member switch, Cluster Manager automatically assigns a host name in the form "switch-" followed by a number. The number indicates the order in which the switch was added to the cluster. If you did not assign a host name to any candidate switch, its MAC address is displayed instead of a host name.

Displaying the Inventory for a Single Switch

To display the inventory for a single switch, select the switch name from the device list drop-down list at the top of the Cluster Inventory window. The administrative information for the switch you selected is displayed at the top of the inventory table and information for all other switches is removed.

Note: If you did not assign a host name to the switch, Cluster Manager automatically assigns a host name in the form "switch-" followed by a number. The number indicates the order in which the switch was added to the cluster.
