Before installing Cisco TCP/IP Suite, complete the steps described in Chapter 1.
Before installing Cisco TCP/IP Suite, you should already have the Microsoft TCP/IP stack installed and working. To install Cisco TCP/IP Suite on Microsoft Windows NT:
Step 1 Insert the Cisco TCP/IP Suite CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
Step 2 If AutoPlay is active on your system, the installation program starts automatically. If it does not start automatically, double-click INSTALL.EXE on the CD-ROM using My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Step 3 Make sure Cisco TCP/IP Suite is selected and click the Install button. Follow the installation program's instructions to complete the installation.
To install Cisco TCP/IP Suite on Microsoft Windows 95:
Step 1 Insert the Cisco TCP/IP Suite CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
Step 2 If AutoPlay is active on your system, the installation program starts automatically. If it does not start automatically, double-click INSTALL.EXE on the CD-ROM using My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Step 3 Make sure Cisco TCP/IP Suite is selected and click the Install button. Follow the installation program's instructions to complete the installation.
Step 4 If you install the TCP/IP stack, you are prompted to configure it after the program files are installed. Once you finish configuring the stack, you must reboot your workstation for the changes to take effect.
Step 5 If you installed the TCP/IP stack, you might want to test the installation by following the instructions in the section "Testing Your Network Connection" in Chapter 4.
To install Cisco TCP/IP Suite on Microsoft Windows 3.x and Windows for Workgroups 3.11:
Step 1 Insert the Cisco TCP/IP Suite CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
Step 2 Double-click INSTALL.EXE on the CD-ROM in the File Manager (or use the File>Run command from the Program Manager).
Step 3 Make sure Cisco TCP/IP Suite is selected. Click the Install button and follow the installation program's instructions to complete the installation.
Step 4 If you install the TCP/IP stack, you are prompted to configure it after the program files are installed. Once you finish configuring the stack, you must reboot your workstation for the changes to take effect.
Step 5 If you installed the TCP/IP stack, you might want to test the installation by following the instructions in the section "Testing Your Network Connection" in Chapter 4.
