This appendix provides information about connectors, receptacles, and pinouts for a Cisco 6015 system.
The DSL interface module of the Cisco 6015 chassis contains two Champ connector receptacles that connect to the ATU-C twisted-pair subscriber data interface. This connection can be made by either of the following methods:
Figure C-1 shows connector pin locations for the xDSL Champ connectors. Pin locations are the same for all Champ connectors.
Note You must screw all cables into the backplane and tie wrap the Champ connectors (see "Cabling Guidelines" section). |
The RJ-48 receptacles on the network Input/Output (I/O) module are pinned out at customer premises equipment rather than central office equipment. Connecting from one T1/E1 connector to another T1/E1 connector requires a crossover cable.
Table C-1 lists the pinout descriptions for the T1/E1 connectors.
The only rear-accessible chassis component is the 5-pin header that connects the BITS interface (network clocking) and the facility alarm input.
Figure C-2 shows a close view of the pinouts that are located on the back of the Cisco 6015 chassis.
Table C-2 lists the pinout descriptions for the header contacts.
The console and auxiliary ports, which are two identical serial EIA/TIA-232 ports, use RJ-45 receptacles on the NI-2 card faceplate. Table C-3 shows the console and auxiliary pin assignments, and Figure C-3 shows an RJ-45 receptacle.
The Ethernet port, a 10BaseT interface with an RJ-45 receptacle, is located on the NI-2 card faceplate. The Ethernet port is used to connect the Cisco 6015 to the management station, which is a Sun SPARCstation running Cisco DSL Manager (CDM) software. Table C-4 shows the Ethernet port pin assignments, and Figure C-4 shows an NI-2 card Ethernet receptacle.
