Introduction

This release note describes the features, modifications, and resolved issues of Adapter Flash Code Version 2.7, which is used with the nonturbo SBus adapters. Refer to the following documents for detailed information about these products:

Product Overview

The CDDI/FDDI SBus adapters connect workstations and servers to CDDI and FDDI networks. High-performance workgroup adapters connect workstations and servers to CDDI or FDDI networks.

Version 2.7 Modifications

This section of the release note describes the features incorporated between Version 2.7 and Version 2.5 of the Adapter Flash code.

Features

The following feature has been added:


  1. This version of Adapter Flash code allows adapters to change their MAC address dynamically when instructed to by the host, and now supports diskless booting. However, Version 2.7 will also function normally if a non-diskless booting driver is operating.

Note For diskless booting to function, you must have a diskless booting capable Cisco SunOS or Solaris adapter driver, as well as an updated FCode PROM. Please see the document CDDI/FDDI SBus Adapter Upgrade and Configuration, which is included in the diskless booting upgrade kit.
