Requires Immediate Attention:
Software License Keys

This document describes how to obtain and install the software keys required for CiscoSecure ACS 2.3 for UNIX (CiscoSecure ACS) and for the Distributed Session Manager (DSM) maximum session control module, which is not included in this installation procedure but is available at an additional cost.

Note If you want to install CiscoSecure ACS with the Distributed Session Manager (DSM) module, you must either: (1) obtain the product labeled CiscoSecure ACS 2.3 for UNIX Distributed Session Manager (CSU-2.3-DSM) or (2) install the product labeled CiscoSecure ACS 2.3 for UNIX (CSU-2.3) and obtain the product labeled CiscoSecure ACS Distributed Session Manager Option (CSU-DM). Then you must follow the directions in the document Requires Immediate Attention (Distributed Session Manager), included with those products.

Required Information

To obtain your license key you will need to provide the following information:

Your host ID (primary) _______________________________________________________

Your host ID (backup) _______________________________________________________

Note The host ID is 8 digits long. Please print as clearly as possible.

Your host ID can be obtained from your Ultra 1 by entering the following command:

# /usr/ucb/hostid

Token number_____________________________________________________________

Obtaining your CiscoSecure Software Keys

There are three methods to obtain your software keys. The first method is preferred for new installations. The second and third methods can be used for upgrades, or for customers who are not registered users of Cisco Connection Online (CCO).

Web-based Registration

This method will provide immediate keys for first-time registrations. You must be a registered user of Cisco Connection Online (CCO) to use this method.

Step 1 Go to the following registration URL:

http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/access/ciscosecure/

Step 2 If this is a first-time installation, click CSU-2.0.

If this is an upgrade, click CSU-2.0-UG.

Step 3 Enter the requested customer information (name, address, and so on), host IDs, and token number.

Step 4 Click Submit.

Phone or E-mail

If you do not have access to CCO, use one of the following two methods. You will need to provide your e-mail address, host IDs and token number.

Call the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to open a case at 800-553-2447.

Send an e-mail to licensing@cisco.com.

Primary and Backup Keys

You will receive two software keys, one primary and one backup. The primary key is used in your primary CiscoSecure server. The backup key can be used with another Ultra 1 as a standby, backup server.

When you Receive Your Keys

When you receive your software keys, enter the appropriate key (either primary or backup) when prompted by the installer. If you installed CiscoSecure ACS prior to receiving your software keys, log in to the CiscoSecure Administrator web site, locate the CiscoSecure License Key field on the AAA > General web page, enter the software license key number, and click Re-Initialize for your key to take effect. Make a note of your software keys here for future reference.
