CiscoSecure EasyACS is an easy-to-use software package designed to provide basic Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) services on a Windows NT server for a single Cisco access server or firewall.
Features supported by CiscoSecure EasyACS version 1.0 include:
- Runs as a Windows NT Server 4.0 "Service"
- Authentication against the Windows NT User Database or local database file
- HTML interface allows management from a browser
- TACACS+ used between CiscoSecure EasyACS and a single Cisco access server or firewall
- Display of logged in users for quick view of who's connected
- Creation of .CSV accounting files for easy import into databases and spreadsheet applications
In the Summer of 1997, Cisco will introduce the next generation product called CiscoSecure ACS for Windows NT.
This product will support the all of the features currently available in CiscoSecure EasyACS plus the following major enhancements:
- A fully-distributed scalable architecture
- Radius protocol support
- Advanced TACACS+ support
- Token card support
- ODBC (Open Database Compliant) import/export utility
- Support for multiple Cisco access servers or firewalls
- Increased granularity of authorization
- Increased control of logging
- User@Domain Proxy support
