named-checkconf — named configuration file syntax checking tool
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/named-checkconf
[-jvz]
[-t
directory]
[configfile]
DESCRIPTION
named-checkconf
is a tool to check the syntax, but not the semantics,
of the configuration file for
named.
Options
- -j
When loading a zone file, read the journal if it exists.
- -t directory
Change root to
directory
so that
include
directives in the configuration file
are processed as if run by a similarly rooted
named
(see
chroot(2)).
- -v
Print the version of the
named-checkconf
program and exit.
- -z
Perform a check on the loading of the master zone files found in
the configuration file.
Operands
- configfile
The configuration file to be checked.
The default is
/etc/named.conf.
RETURN VALUE
named-checkconf
sets the exit status.
- 0
Success.
- 1
Errors were detected.
