Although many documents on QoS refer to DSCP classifications by their PHB label, you must use their
decimal equivalent to make configuration changes in the Catalyst switches. For additional information
about the decimal equivalents of PHBs, see
Appendix A, "Reference Information."
Note
On routers enabled with MPLS, the IP Precedence values will (by default) be mapped to corresponding
MPLS Experimental Values. If the classification recommendations shown in
Table 1-3
are used, then no
additional classification or reclassification is needed when interfacing with MPLS backbones.
