Well, we've pretty thoroughly covered the ins and outs of programming in awk, both the standard language, and the extensions available in different implementations. As you work with awk, you'll come to find it an easy and pleasant language to program in, since it does almost all of the drudgery for you, allowing you to concentrate on the actual problem to be solved.
