confRANLIBOPTS

Arguments to give the ranlib program Build macro

Many versions of the ranlib(1) program run successfully with no argument other than the name of the library file. On some other systems (notably Darwin and Rhapsody) the ranlib(1) program requires a -c argument before the library name. For all the supported architectures in devtools/OS, the presence or absence of other switches is correctly defined for you.

In the rare circumstance that you need to add or change a switch, you can do so with this confRANLIBOPTS macro:

define(`confRANLIBOPTS', `-v') replace the switch
APPENDDEF(`confRANLIBOPTS', `-v') add a switch
