A.5. Requests For Comments

Proposals, standards, and other information have historically been passed around the Internet community through documents called Requests for Comments (RFCs). All RFCs are available via anonymous FTP or the Web. Any RFCs of interest to you are likely to be listed at http://info.internet.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc/files/. Since the listing is enormous, it's more efficient just to enter a URL in the form:

http://info.internet.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc/files/rfcn.txt
where n is the number of the RFC.

The Bibliography lists a number of RFCs that interest Linux network administrators and users.
