Finalizing the installation

Advanced options

This allows you to select where you want to install the boot loader. A boot loader is a program that boots the operating system. Normally you would install this in the Master Boot Record (MBR). This special area of your hard drive tells the computer what to do next after turning on. Unless you wish to use another program to control which operating system to boot, leave this as Install to MBR.

[Warning]

Once you press Install, the changes you specified on the partitioning screen will be applied. These changes cannot be undone. Please make sure that the changes you have specified are correct and that you have a back-up copy of any valuable data stored safely.

[Note]

If you are planning on installing a dual-boot system, it is easiest to install Windows first. This is because Windows overwrites the MBR when it is installed.

Beginning the installation

After you have completed the partitioning stage, you will be presented with the Ready to install screen. This will provide a summary of the installation settings you have chosen. If you would like to change any of these settings, this is your last chance to do so. Click Back to change your settings.

Once you are sure that you would like to proceed with installation, click Install. The installation process will then start, and may take a while to complete.
