This chapter covers the following topics that you need to master as a CCNP:
·
Queuing overview--This section discusses when to use queuing and which queuing
technique to use.
·
Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ)--This section discusses the most commonly
deployed queuing methodology--WFQ. WFQ is a simple technique that gives low
volume traffic priority on the link.
·
Priority queuing--This section discusses how to manipulate specific protocols and
traffic types on a link by giving those protocols or traffic types higher priority access
to WAN bandwidth.
·
Custom queuing--This section discusses a queuing technique that enables all
protocols and traffic types to share a WAN link. In this queuing, each protocol and
traffic type is allocated a specific amount of bandwidth.
·
Compression techniques--This section addresses the need for compression in
enterprise networks and discusses when such techniques are a good idea.
