Cisco Support Functions
WAN and Access Services
Provides Access dial-up, ISDN, PPP,
TACACS, radius, and AAA issues. Frame Relay and WAN-switching is
also supported.
Let's work through an IP example. You select the IP Step-by-Step link
and proceed to the Troubleshooting Assistant, which allows you to specify
a specific problem:
Problems with configuring IP addressing
Local host cannot access remote host
Local client/server cannot access local router
Connections fail with certain applications
Problems with forwarding BootP and other UDP broadcasts
Problems with RIP/IGRP
Problems with OSPF
Problems with EIGRP
Problems with BGP performance
Click the Next button, and the Troubleshooting Assistant asks you
questions that are more specific. The process then moves through a
series of Yes/No questions, trying to diagnose the problem that you are
experiencing. Once the Assistant decides that it has enough information
to diagnose your problem, it will suggest various solutions.
If you cannot remember which questions were asked or how you
answered them, you can review the Q&A session by clicking the session log
button on the left side of the screen.
If the information suggested by the Troubleshooting Assistant doesn't solve
your problem, you can also open a TAC case from the troubleshooting engine's
screen by selecting the Open a Case button on the left side of the page.
Additional problems can be analyzed by selecting the Start Over button.
Cisco Connection Documentation
Cisco's
Cisco Connection Documentation CD-ROM
is the collection of
technical documentation, available on CCO as well as on the Documen-
tation CD, which accompanies new Cisco equipment purchases. Both
forms of the technical documentation are very helpful for providing crit-
ical information regarding Cisco products, networking technologies, and
configuration examples.
