Most of the characters used by the ping IPX are the same as with IP
ping
. Table 4.15 defines the characters used with the ping IPX.
AppleTalk
AppleTalk's version of ping uses the Apple Echo Protocol to send and receive
reachability messages. Unlike IP, unless an interface is configured to listen to
its own requests, AppleTalk ping does not work on the router interfaces.
You find the character map for AppleTalk echo messages in Table 4.16.
