Overruns occur on the physical interface. Think of the physical inter-
face as consisting of three parts: the buffer, the receiver, and the trans-
mitter. An overrun occurs when the receiver receives packets faster than
it can transfer them to the hardware buffer. Figure 4.8 gives a graphical
description of the process.
