SNA Topologies
The CCDP exam requires you to have an in-depth understanding of SNA technology. This
is the third of three chapters on this topic. In this chapter, the discussion focuses on several
topics, including some common Token Ring and DLSw+ designs with border peers. As
with any time-sensitive protocol, quality of service (QoS) needs to be applied to help the
traffic receive the priority it needs so that it does not time out. Various QoS methods are
discussed. Finally, another important aspect of DLSw+ is the many timer options available
to the CCDP. The timer's default values are listed, along with reasons for changing them.
How to Best Use This Chapter
By follow these steps, you can make better use of your study time:
·
Keep your notes and the answers for all your work with this book in one place for easy
reference.
·
Take the "Do I Know This Already?" quiz and write down your answers. Studies show
that retention is significantly increased through writing down facts and concepts, even
if you never look at the information again.
·
Use the diagram shown in Figure 14-1 to guide you to the next step.
