HDLC for serial links. This method offers the best performance of the three methods
because of the low overhead. Use this method if only two sites are connected over a leased
line. The drawback is that this can be used only as a single link. This is not a very robust
method; redundancy is hard to achieve. Figure 13-9 illustrates the HDLC method.
