SNA Internetworking
The CCDP exam requires you to have an in-depth understanding of Systems Network
Architecture (SNA) technology. This chapter focuses on SDLLC, APPN, DLSw+, and the
STUN protocol. SNA is not a new technology by any means, but you still might be called
upon either to create a new design or to upgrade an existing legacy network.
The purpose of this chapter is not just to discuss the basics of these technologies, for there
are other Cisco Press books that examine that in detail, but rather to discuss some of the
SNA options that might be on the exam, and also what you should keep in mind when
designing complex SNA networks.
How to Best Use This Chapter
By following these steps, you can make better use of your study time:
·
Keep your notes and the answers for all your work with this book in one place for easy
reference.
·
Take the "Do I Know This Already?" quiz and write down your answers. Studies show
that retention is significantly increased through writing down facts and concepts, even
if you never look at the information again.
·
Use the diagram shown in Figure 13-1 to guide you to the next step.
