416 Chapter 11: Remote Access
This platform of routers lets organizations integrate all traffic, whether it be LAN, legacy, voice,
fax, or video, over a single network backbone. The Cisco MC3810 supports a variety of user
interfaces, including Ethernet LAN, T1/E1 trunks, analog telephones, and ISDN services.
MC3810s have standard interfaces that come with the router: two administrative ports (one
console and one auxiliary), one Ethernet port, and two synchronous serial ports.
There are many optional interfaces, including:
·
T1/E1 trunk port
·
BRI S/T backup port
·
Four ISDN QSIG BRI voice ports
·
Up to six analog voice ports:
-- FXS--Foreign Exchange Station port
-- FXO--Foreign Exchange Office port
-- Digital voice port--Supports one digital T1/E1 voice port
-- E&M--Analog port for a two-wire or four-wire interface to PBX
