be shared in modular branch office products in the future. Ethernet ports can only
be 10 Mbps Ethernet, not Fast Ethernet.
A few of the nice features that come with the 1600 include advanced security,
including optional integrated firewall, encryption, and VPN software. The 1600
also supports end-to-end quality of service (QoS) and multimedia support. It is
considered easy to deploy and manage.

Cisco 1700 series
The Cisco 1720 modular access router has two modular WAN slots and delivers
a flexible, integrated data access solution for branch offices and small- and
medium-sized businesses. The 1720 access router can handle 1600, 2600, and
3600 data WAN interface cards. It also features an auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps
Fast Ethernet LAN port. (The 100 Mbps Ethernet port will not support ISL.)

The Cisco 1750 modular access router is very similar to the 1720, offering three

and medium-sized businesses. The Cisco 1750 provides a cost-effective solution
that supports a variety of applications.

Cisco 2500 series
By far one of the most popular Cisco routers, the 2500s have a fixed
configuration with many variations of interfaces, with two exceptions--the 2524
and the 2525. These accept up to three WAN modules in plug-in slots. All 2500s
except the 2524 and 2525 usually have a minimum of two of the following
interfaces:
