Simple password authentication exchanges clear-text passwords across the network and can be
detected with a network sniffer.
NOTE
Always use MD5 authentication. MD5 authentication uses cryptography and does not exchange
password information across the network.

Creating Neighbors
Two OSPF routers do not become neighbors unless they share the following:

Area-id--Routers that share a common segment must belong to the same area on that
segment.
Backbone area 0
Area border router
Area 1
Default link 0.0.0.0
