named-checkconf — named configuration file syntax checking tool

SYNOPSIS

/usr/sbin/named-checkconf [-jvz] [-t directory] [configfile]

DESCRIPTION

named-checkconf is a tool to check the syntax, but not the semantics, of the configuration file for named.

Options

-j

When loading a zone file, read the journal if it exists.

-t directory

Change root to directory so that include directives in the configuration file are processed as if run by a similarly rooted named (see chroot(2)).

-v

Print the version of the named-checkconf program and exit.

-z

Perform a check on the loading of the master zone files found in the configuration file.

Operands

configfile

The configuration file to be checked. The default is /etc/named.conf.

RETURN VALUE

named-checkconf sets the exit status.

0

Success.
